The wait is over! Dreamforce 2023 is in full swing, and the Trailblazer community is buzzing with Salesforce energy. In this blog, we unpack the highlights of Day 1 and all of the exciting opportunities for learning, networking, and fun.
But before Dreamforce even officially started, we kicked the week off the way we always do, with the 9th annual Dreamforce Charity Poker event, which raises money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation supporting Parkinson's Research. With $250K raised over the last nine years, players in this year’s sold-out event were hopeful in surpassing the $300K mark. Between dinner, drinks, and a thrilling poker game, the night before Dreamforce was a royal flush.
(Key)Notes from the Top
Dreamforce 2023 started strong with the Dreamforce Main Keynote presented by Salesforce Chair and CEO Marc Benioff. At the AI event of the year, he emphasized that Salesforce is fully embracing generative AI, with its customers and partners' trust at its forefront of its innovations. “The AI revolution is a trust revolution,” said Benioff. Salesforce also announced its new generative AI-related products, including the Einstein 1 platform, which will allow companies to “safely connect any data to build AI-powered apps with low-code and deliver entirely new [customer-relationship management] experiences” and Einstein Copilot Studio, where businesses can customize Einstein GPT and Einstein Copilot to their needs.
Declaring your data independence
Companies–big and small–deserve to have autonomy over their most important asset: their data. At Dreamforce 2023, data independence can be yours with one step into Own's Independence Hall. Located in The Howard SF, the communal gathering space enables attendees to meet with data experts to learn how to protect their mission-critical data. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, libations and more at Independence Hall over the course of Dreamforce–along with the peace of mind that comes with independent data protection.

Insights from the experts
Dreamforce 2023’s inaugural day was brimming with educational insights; particularly the expert-led theater sessions. In the first session, Backup and Archive: Take Control of Your Growing Org, Own Senior Product Marketing Manager Selma Chang joined Goosehead Insurance Head of Salesforce Solutions Ethan Waller and Thousand Eyes Senior Manager of Business Systems and Process Firas Yacoub to discuss proactive management steps for growing Salesforce orgs, while prioritizing data health, compliance, and continuity.
In the second half of the day, Own Senior Product Marketing Manager Natascha Guerrero and Product Manager Ed Pointe shared the stage with Classy Salesforce Ecosystem Manager Sarah Gantz for Secure Your Data: Control Who Sees What. Attendees learned how to easily view, audit, and update permissions to enhance their Salesforce org security.
Cheers to 6,000
